In order for the air movement to cover the entire volume of the attic, they are done in opposite walls.
The area of the holes should be 0.2 percent of the area of the attic.
There are special ventilation grilles that are easy to install. You need to install two grilles, one of which must be covered with a flap. To prevent flies and mosquitoes from entering the room, after ventilation in the attic is done, nets are put on the grates.
Attic ventilation with different roofs
Hip roof attics are ventilated according to a special scheme. An entry hole is made in the roof lining. The weekend is equipped at the very skate. The wooden filing of such a roof is made with gaps of a couple of millimeters. If plastic filing is planned, perforated plates, called soffits, are inserted among the solid plates.
For roofs made of shingles, special valves are produced, called "turtle". You can also use a ventilated ridge. A standard ridge is mounted on roofs made of euro-slate and ordinary slate. And on the roofs made of tiles, a valve of a special design is installed. Installation of the ridge is much cheaper than a special valve and the work takes much less time.
In some cases, ventilation of the attic in a private house is carried out by means of dormer windows.
They can be covered with glass or nets. However, for the competent arrangement of this type of attic ventilation in a private house, special knowledge and skills are needed.
